Midos is a personal expense tracker you actually keep up with. Dictate a whole day of spending in one go, scan a receipt line by line, or tap it in on the keypad. Set a weekly norm per category — every euro you keep under it is counted as money earned.

Midos is an app for tracking money you enter yourself. It is not a bank and it does not connect to your bank accounts.

Three ways in
The fastest way to log a transaction is the one you'll actually use
Most tracking apps die at the data-entry step. Midos gives you three routes to the same place — a short, editable list you confirm before anything is saved.
Talk through your day
Hold the button and say everything at once — “coffee four fifty by card, groceries thirty-one twenty, taxi twelve”. Midos splits the batch into separate transactions with amounts, categories and accounts filled in. Speech is transcribed on your device; only the resulting text is sent for parsing.
Scan a receipt
Point the camera at a receipt and pick a mode: log it as one transaction with the total, or break it out so each line item becomes its own transaction with its own category. Handy when one shop trip is really groceries plus household plus a gift.
Or just tap it in
A purpose-built keypad, a swipe between expense / income / transfer, recent categories where your thumb already is. No voice, no camera, no network — the manual path works everywhere, including on a plane.
AI-assisted — you review before saving
Voice and receipt parsing are powered by an AI model, and models make mistakes. Midos never writes straight to your ledger: it always shows an editable review list first, where you can fix an amount, change a category, pick a different account or delete a line. Nothing is saved until you confirm it.
What's inside
Built around one idea: saving should feel like earning
Every screen is designed to make the boring part — writing down where the money went — short enough that you keep doing it, and rewarding enough that you want to.
“Saved = Earned”
Set a weekly norm for a few categories. Spend under it and the difference lands in a running earnings counter — in lime, right on the home screen. Saving stops being an absence and becomes a number that goes up.
Streaks that survive real life
A day counts when you log it — including no-spend days. Miss one and an automatic freeze can cover you, so a single busy Tuesday doesn't wipe out a month of habit.
Weekly norms & goals
Light, per-category weekly limits instead of a rigid annual budget. One savings goal at a time, with progress fed by what you actually save week to week.
Accounts, categories, transfers
As many accounts as you keep money in, a two-level category tree you can rename and recolour, and proper transfers that move value without polluting your spending totals.
Analytics that stay readable
Spending by category, income against expense, net-worth and expense trends, your typical day, and a comparison with the previous period — over a day, a week, a month, a year or a custom range.
Recurring bills, logged for you
Rent, utilities and subscriptions become templates that post themselves on the scheduled day, so your norms and analytics reflect reality without any monthly data-entry chore.
Multi-currency, done properly
Log in the currency you paid in. Midos snapshots the exchange rate at the moment you save, so your history and analytics in your base currency don't silently rewrite themselves later.
Offline first, sync optional
The whole app — logging, streaks, norms, analytics, export — runs on the device with no account at all. Turn sync on if you want your data on more than one device, and turn it off again whenever you like.
Your data, exportable
Export everything to CSV or JSON from Settings at any time. No lock-in, no “premium export”.
Private by design
No ads. No tracking. No profile of you.
Your spending is about as personal as data gets. Midos is built so that most of it never has to leave your phone in the first place.
No advertising and no cross-app tracking. There is no ad SDK in the app, no advertising identifier, and no tracking permission prompt — because there is nothing to ask for.
Speech is recognised on your device. Your voice recording never leaves the phone. Only the text it produced is sent to be turned into transactions.
Receipt photos are not stored. A scanned image is passed through for reading and then dropped — it is never written to our servers or to any storage bucket.
No account needed. Install and start logging. Signing in with Apple is only required for sync and the AI features.
Analytics without the money. Product analytics record which screens are opened, on a strict allowlist that excludes amounts, notes, merchant names, names and email addresses.
Delete it all yourself. Settings has a self-service account deletion that removes your account and its data from our servers — no email request, no waiting.

Questions
Straight answers
Does Midos connect to my bank?
No. Midos is a manual tracker: you enter transactions yourself, by voice, by receipt scan or by hand. It does not link to bank accounts or cards, does not import statements, and is not a bank, a payment service or a financial institution.
Do I need an account to use it?
No. Install it and start logging — accounts, categories, transactions, norms, streaks, goals and analytics all work with no sign-in and no network. An account (Sign in with Apple) is only needed for two things: syncing your data across devices, and the AI voice and receipt features.
Is my voice recording sent somewhere?
No. Speech recognition runs on your device, so the audio itself never leaves the phone. The text it produces is sent to the Midos backend and from there to an AI provider that turns it into draft transactions for you to review.
What happens to a photographed receipt?
The image is uploaded, read once in memory and discarded. It is never saved on our servers, in a storage bucket or in a database. The photo stays in your own camera roll if you chose to save it there.
How accurate is the AI?
Good enough to save you most of the typing, and not something you should trust blindly. Handwriting, faded thermal paper, noisy rooms and unusual phrasing all cause mistakes. That is exactly why Midos always shows an editable review screen and saves nothing until you confirm it.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — CSV or JSON export from Settings, at any time, on the free tier. You can also delete your account and its server-side data from inside the app.
Which devices does it run on?
Midos is built for iPhone and follows the system dark appearance. It is not yet available on the App Store — this page will be updated when it is.
